As you learn about the city, you’ll figure out the people and places you like to get your activity, food, and cocktail inspiration, as well as where you prefer to get your news. But until then, these websites and social media accounts are a great place to start.

SFGate: The sister site of The San Francisco Chronicle and a good source for Bay Area news and entertainment. (The Chronicle offers more in-depth information, but is behind a paywall.)

SF Weekly: A free alternative weekly newspaper with a focus on hyper-local news, entertainment, food, etc.

7x7: A website that features local insider stories and tips about where to go, what to do, where to shop, what to eat/drink, and more.

Curbed SF: Everything you need to know about SF homes and neighborhoods.

Eater SF: Everything you need to know about SF’s food and bar scene.

Hoodline: An excellent source for neighborhood news.
